Get Involved
You can help us sustain the green spaces that connect our children to nature by volunteering to become a School Tender.
Many of the 57 school sites that are part of the School Grounds Greening Project need your help. It’s a great opportunity to get outside and connect yourself and Pittsburgh Public School students to nature.
A School Tender’s duties may consist of three simple steps:
1) Watering
2) Weeding
3) Regular monitoring of plants
No horticultural experience is necessary. Supplies and training are provided. Becoming a School Tender is an easy way to volunteer in your neighborhood and make a significant contribution to the school and surrounding community.

For more information on how to get involved, call 412-586-2321 or email SchoolGreening@paconserve.org. You can view participating school locations here.
