WPC's Community Gardens project encompasses 140 sites in 19 counties. Working with 320 groups and more than 10,000 volunteers, WPC sustains sites through funding, design, site preparation, technical assistance and volunteer coordination.
In addition to gardens, WPC implements several other approaches to community greening. WPC’s Gardens and Greenspace Program beautifies downtown Pittsburgh through community gardens, planters and hanging baskets. WPC’s School grounds Greening initiative was launched in 2008 to improve Pittsburgh Public School campuses. Finally, WPC partners with neighborhoods, DCNR, the City and County to provide trees along our streets and in community parks through TreeVitalize.
