Help WPC plant the Fort Pitt Tunnel Garden
The Conservancy is looking for help with one of our last garden plantings of the season! On Saturday, June 5, from 8:30 a.m. until 1 p.m., our staff and volunteers will transform this famous gateway to downtown with thousands of flowers. Please join us to lend a hand and be a part of something big.
Due to the complicated logistics of getting onto the garden site, we will meet at 8:30 a.m. at the Gateway Center Mall parking lot, take a bus to the tunnel entrance, and walk to the site. Unfortunately, there is no access to the site other than our scheduled bus.
We ask for a four-hour commitment because it is difficult to get people on and off the site. All tools and materials will be provided, as well as drinking water, snacks and a Porta John. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes. We plant rain or shine!
If you can help, please RSVP to Nancy Terpack at 412-586-2388 so we have an accurate count of people coming by Thursday, June 3.
