Fallingwater Helps the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh Celebrate its 100th Anniversary

The Interior of Fallingwater

Fallingwater, the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed house in Mill Run, Pa, is hosting two exhibitions of work created by the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh's (AAP) members in celebration of AAP’s 100th anniversary.

These juried exhibitions feature artwork created in a variety of media, each inspired by Fallingwater's architecture and natural environment. The first exhibition concluded on August 31; the second exhibition will take place between September 11 and November 2. The exhibition will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily except Wednesdays.

“During the past year, members of the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh were given the unique privilege to work on the grounds of Fallingwater, gaining inspiration from Wright’s organic architecture,” says Justin Gunther, curator of buildings and collections at Fallingwater. “The result is a series of exhibitions being held at Fallingwater this summer and fall. Created by more than 25 local artists in a variety of media, artwork examines the interaction of art and nature, presenting fresh perspectives of one of the world’s most celebrated buildings.”

The exhibition is located at the Fallingwater Visitor Center Gallery. Admission for the event is included with any standard $8.00 Fallingwater grounds pass, which can be purchased at the gate. Visitors that would also like to tour Fallingwater are advised to call and make a reservation beforehand. Fallingwater is closed on Wednesdays.
